This is our second visit. I've noticed improvements over the previous stay. The Wi-Fi now is very good (2400kb down/800kb up). The cable TV before was very grainy last year, but looks great now. There are roughly 70 channels. The location is handy for us. We will be back again.
The owners keep the park very neat and well raked. There are lots of large trees for shade in the summer. We visited in the winter, and most of the trees were bare. Satellite viewing can be difficult from many of the sites. Originally we could not find the DirecTV satellite from our spot. We were moved from 37 to 31 and had no trouble finding the signal from the 101 satellite. Phoenix stations are available with a regular antenna. The sites are more than ample for big rigs and space to park another vehicle if towing.
Previous reviews have been spot on. It is a beautiful campground. The roads through the RV section are concrete as are the individual sites. Backing in is a little tricky, but not too terrible for in our motorhome (39'). Our site was very long, with room to park the Jeep and ample room to spare beyond. There are lots of trees, but they were not a problem for satellite reception from our site (Mallard Loop 13). The only drawbacks I noted were that they do not take reservations and two weeks is the maximum stay.
The park is in excellent condition. As noted by another review, there is noise from trains and a little from I-10. We had two reservations for one night going to and from Washington. The confirmation came via regular mail and was shredded when it got to us. Our first night was supposed to be Sept 29, but when we got there the park was closed until October and we had to find somewhere to spend the night. The WiFi signal was excellent and the staff was helpful in getting us to the site, even though we showed up after the office closed (5 PM).
We used the resort along the way up and back to WA. It is in immaculate condition with wide paved roads and large level concrete sites. The WiFi was strong and consistent.
This is our idea of an ideal campground. The sites are spacious, with lots of tall trees. Satellite reception wasn't possible, but the cable was excellent. After a windy storm on Saturday, the crew had the debris cleaned up by the next afternoon. The only problem area we noted was the WiFi that went from good to nonexistent at times.
